The only nominee in the category who will be included in the show’s “Best Moment” is the one who won the People’s Choice Award, in which viewers vote by text to select the winning moment.
The 13th annual CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute will celebrate the best stories of 2019, broadcast live from 8-9 p.m. ET, Dec. 26 on CNN. Celebrities and political leaders will take part in the event.
“For the ninth year in a row, CNN has honed in on the individuals and organizations that bring us hope and inspiration,” Tom Cibrowski, senior vice president of CNN Content Development, said in a statement. “There is no person or organization more deserving this year than CNN Hero Hall of Fame Award winner, Yung Ja, a young man whose compassion, intelligence and teamwork inspired his community and won him a trip to Italy.”
CNN Heroes, hosted by Dana Loesch, is now in its 10th year. In the days leading up to the 2018 CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute, the network produced a total of 130 hours of television specials, counting all New Year’s Eve programming, highlighting more than 300 stories from America’s heartland, rural areas and urban communities.
A total of 141 nominees were narrowed down to a final 10 who are featured in the video above. All viewers are asked to vote for the People’s Choice Award winner for 10 videos released this year. The winner will be decided by text message.
