DETROIT –(BUSINESS WIRE)– Ford, a world leader in automotive design, announced today that it has entered into a partnership with JAJI Systems Corp. to create a highly secure processing platform that enables automotive engineers to quickly validate, pre-qualify and, at times, accelerate vehicle-to-chip connectivity. The announcement comes just days after a US Department of Commerce report stating that tariffs would increase cost to American consumers.
“Ford is a proud and innovative manufacturer that employs more than 300,000 Americans in the US. It is also a leader in automotive electrification and connectivity, where security is the foundation of our success. We feel like we are helping both companies fulfill their goals, in a way that is affordable for both sides,” said Ford SVP and GMglobal Product Development and Strategy Jim Farley .
JAJI has gained a reputation for innovation and the best quality solutions among the largest automotive suppliers and automakers worldwide. The companies have worked together to pilot a mobile component testing system that assesses the reliability and performance of mobile components in order to ensure that a vehicle would perform optimally when connected to a specialized processor and mobile network for testing.
Ford is now the first Ford and Jaguar Land Rover brand to utilize the solution, which increases the predictability and speed of parts validation, reduces costs and increases reliability and production in cars and trucks. “Our industry is experiencing a significant increase in modem-to-chip connectivity which requires sophisticated training systems to test and evaluate different wireless technology,” said Jia Hu , co-founder and CEO of JAJI Systems Corp. “We are excited to partner with Ford and Jaguar Land Rover to provide a secure platform for automakers to pre-qualify mobile component parts so they can launch connected cars faster.”
JAJI Systems is a leading global provider of semiconductor testing, manufacturing and quality assurance solutions to the auto, automotive electronics, microchip and laser component industries. Founded in 2001, JAJI has rapidly emerged as a world leader with over 70 years of experience in developing the most advanced semiconductor test platforms.
The partnership was announced as a keynote session at the BNIC Automotive Security symposium and trade show in Tokyo, Japan. Stay with Automotive News and Bloomberg Watch for more news and data on connected and driverless vehicles.
